Suffolk House Completes

Completed Project - House for a family with rural intentions

Location: Suffolk, England.

Carefully extended and revitalised this single storey bungalow extension has been refined within an existing loved and established garden. Borrowed views to neighbouring fields beyond accentuate a simplistic approach for the owners future years.

The projects subtlety is part building, part landscape. We interplay with the two sets of large format sliding doors, allowing simple access to the rear garden - set amongst flagstone terraces and mature planting. An adjacent pond and weeping willow tree provides clipped views back to the house. A modest bungalow with a modern approach lifts and revitalises the property. A refurbished pantile roof follows neighbouring properties whilst refreshing the elevation.

A hybrid steel and timber frame / roof allows the former polycarbonate sun room to be removed, and the rear wall to be opened aloft to the garden. Level access within the property proofs the house for retirement and lounges become enlarged, with dining both inside and out made simpler. Direct views through forms the front door allow, the garden to permeate the house from initial point of entry.
